Beach-craft, home-made cakes, art works, music and rides – Kingscliff Public School will celebrate the return of spring in style with it's annual festival on Friday evening (September 10) from 4-7pm.

While all the rides will be down on the oval, the new hall and the school's cola will be used for all sorts of other activities. And there are a lot of things planned from plants and produce stalls to all those traditional stalls and activities you find at a fete.

The event is the culmination of weeks of work by students, staff and parents.

Experience a wondrous display of 55 sculptures built by artists from Australia and abroad in the 8th annual Swell Sculpture Festival at Currumbin Beach 10 - 19 September, 2010. The free exhibition is open all hours with a selection of sculptures revealing a new verve as they are lit up under the southern sky.

Over 10 days, visitors can experience the sculptures, enjoy twilight walks, informative artist talks, discover new perspectives at the Public Art Forum, wander through the Swell Smalls Gallery and participate in artist master classes and children's workshops.

Swell Sculpture Festival inspires, amuses and uplifts and captures the hearts and minds of all who visit.

Again all of our stores are having a sale but we aren't just raising funds for oursleves but also for Bravehearts.

Bravehearts is Australia's largest child protection advocacy group and we are joining forces to promote their annual White Balloon Campaign which commences on 7th September.

We will be selling packets of the white balloons and we will also be having a 25% sale throughout our stores(excluding purchase product). We will be holding a sausage sizzle at our store also.

Over the past 17 years Twin Towns and District Garden Club's annual Flower Show has evolved to become much much more so this year we are calling it a Flower & Garden Expo. Saturday September 11 at Tweed Heads Civic Centre from 8.30 - 3 pm. Entry $2 adults and children free.

As well as a professionally judged flower and plant show there will be workshops on how to care for and pot Succulents, Cliveas, Bromeliads, Orchids, Begonias and African Violets. There will also be plant sales, childrens & photography classes, raffles, lucky door prizes and light refreshments.

Gold Coast Libraries brings you this special event as part of Australia's largest annual promotion of books and reading – Get Reading!

New Zealand author and singer Craig Smith will be visiting the Gold Coast with his guitar promoting his book and CD The Wonky Donkey.

Craig's great sense of humour was put to good use in penning his song The Wonky Donkey which was co-winner of the APRA Children's Song of the Year award in 2008.
